It’s jacket season! 10 of the best.

April 20, 2022

Walking out of the house with one less layer feels like optimism!

As the weather warms and we shed the winter coats, we focus on building outfits around the jackets.

If you live in the UK, the jacket is the most practical item in your wardrobe. They offer 12 month wearability and allow us to wear more summery pieces now without getting caught out if the weather quickly changes. A beautiful jacket also elevates simple pairings like jeans and a T-shirt… dressing made easy.

Tips for buying jackets

✔️Start with your wearables. Neutral colours here. Once you have an option with high wearability you can move to something with more detailing.

✔️ Think about your proportions. The length will make and break its wearability

✔️ You will need different weights.

✔️ Choose a style to suit your style preference… one person’s leather jacket is another person’s blazer

💥 Here are 10 of the best.

1. Quilted – Plain or printed? You choose depending on your style preference but the texture will add an element to your casual looks.

2. Leather – This doesn’t have to be a biker style or black. But again the texture of leather makes it a versatile piece.

3. Bomber – Worried you will look too preppy? Opt for a more relaxed out style

4. Blazer – Perfect for trans seasonal dressing, an oversized option will function like a coat.

5. Shacket – The shirt-jacket is a great casual option and adds an interesting layer under other jacket styles

6. Poncho – Keeps you warm whilst adding drama. Great for flights too.

7. Denim – So many great options on the high street

8. Khaki Jacket – With a shade to suit everyone, you will have this utilitarian style on constant rotation.

9. Vest – These sleeveless styles are flattering everyone

10. Rain jacket – this needs no introduction.
