CPW… What it is and how to get it.

May 06, 2022

If you want to understand your CORE style, write down the items you have worn most in the past 5 days.

And be honest.

If you have worn leggings, jeans, sweatshirts, trainers… this is your CORE style.

You might be up in arms about this…

“But Penny this isn’t my REAL style. I went out the other night and I wore this great dress and heels…that’s my style”

Good, you know how to ELEVATE your core style

BUT your core style is what you wear every. single. day.

And this may scare you.

You have two options…

➡️ 1. If you love wearing leggings, sweatshirts and trainers and this is your happy place…allocate your shopping budget to them and make them really good leggings. I can highly recommend the Toteme Cork Leggingslegs for days

➡️ 2. If you bulk at the idea of spending £140 on leggings then they are not your core style. If you are not in love with wearing leggings and you feel like you haven’t engaged with your style post-lockdown, we can fix it 🙋‍♀️

The reality is that it is so much harder to make your every day looks amazing. It is easy to put on a great dress and heels… everything looks good with heels!

But most of your shopping budget should be allocated on items you wear every day…because that is your style.

This is where CPW comes in.

How to get it.

✔️ Step 1 Understand your style (and how you want to feel in your clothes)

✔️ Step 2 What is your lifestyle (not your dream life…beach holiday anyone?!) Where are you wearing it?

✔️ Step 3 Can you wear it across all seasons? Where do you live and what is the weather like? (Not where you would like to live)

If you find an item that represents your style, can be dressed up and down for your lifestyle and you can wear it 8 months of the year, I give you permission to spend a lot of money on it.

What is the item in your wardrobe you wear the most?

P.S. In the My Wearable Wardrobe Style Club we share our everyday outfits so we can really refine and define our CORE style. We share ideas, style hacks and shopping recommendations and the way the members have revived items in their wardrobe because of that support is so satisfying. I’m re-opening on 22/9/22 so mark you diaries now!
