What are your favourite Practical Shoes for Summer?

I sat on the tube this week on my way to UAL’s Eastbank campus where I teach the next generation of Personal Stylists my Personal Styling Method and I was enjoying looking at what people wear when they commute in the summer. 

 

And one lady caught my eye. 

 

She was wearing a relaxed tailored pant suit with a T-shirt so far so chic… 

but she was wearing it with a pair of sturdy fisherman sandals

 

What I love most about this is that I imagined her wearing those sandals with an off the body summer dress to the pub… 

…then she is wearing them to navigate a dirt track to the beach in Italy. 

 

This is what I refer to as the style trifecta… 

When style / functionality / comfort collide. 

 

The right pair will work for almost any occasion.

Practical Shoes for Summer Top Tip 

A sandal with a heavier footbed stands up to tailoring for summer in the office. 

 

Put your trainers away (most people in the carriage were wearing trainers! And I was wearing these if you are interested) and invest in a shoe that is not only practical but chic too.
