It’s been a while—I’ve missed this.
Missed writing to you about style.
I’ve missed sharing meaningful conversations about how you feel in your clothes and how you want to look, so that your wardrobe holds as much purpose as the rest of your life.
Your Wardrobe’s Not the Problem — Your Mood Is.
Over the past few months, I’ve been deep in these conversations—with clients and my students at LCF.
When I begin working with someone, one of the first things we explore is how they want to feel in their clothes. Because the better I understand someone’s mindset, the more precisely and meaningfully I can style them.
In a recent consultation, after I asked my client how she wanted to feel in her clothes, she paused, then turned the question back on me:
“How do you want to feel?”
“Calm,” I said (without hesitation).
This time of year, my calendar is filled with back-to-back shopping and styling appointments and outfitting. My creativity is fully engaged… I’m entirely in service of my clients.
And when you do something with creativity and passion, you do it to the limit.
Until you have nothing left.
And that’s where I’ve been.
Pouring my creative energy into others and having nothing left to give my own wardrobe or sadly this blog. But this is a cycle I am used to.
While my clients are thriving—feeling that renewed joy that comes from dressing in a way that aligns the inner and outer self—I retreat from my wardrobe and ask only one thing of it: to keep me calm.
In these moments, I rely deeply on my wearables.
These are the pieces that are:
- Classic in nature
- Highly designed, but subtle
- Neutral in tone
- Supportive without being emotionally demanding
They are easy to throw on, interchangeable, grounding. They’re not basic, but they are effortless.
And lately, they are the only pieces I’m drawn to.
How are you feeling about your style right now?
It’s essential to keep checking in with yourself—because your mental state and your style are in constant conversation. How we dress affects how we feel. And how we feel affects how we dress. That symbiotic relationship matters more than we often admit.
I know how full your life is. Work, family, friends—giving your best to everything can leave little energy for getting dressed, let alone carving out time to create new outfits or assess what’s missing in your wardrobe.
If you’re lacking reliable, versatile wearables, my latest shopping list might just be the antidote to decision fatigue and outfit overwhelm. You can find it here.
Of course, I know you like things to be personal. If you’re ready to feel more like you again, my team and I can help you get to where you want to be—stylistically, so that you can move more confidently toward where you want to be emotionally, intellectually, and physically.
I’m currently booking for September. Grab your slot here.
Let’s do this together.
See you next week (promise).
